Philippians 4:6–7: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Everything we have belongs to God; we are simply stewards of His gifts. Because of this, we should always be thankful for what has been given to us.

We should be grateful for the life He has given us on this earth. God created us and gave us life so that we can experience His goodness through Jesus Christ, His Son. Every joy we encounter is a gift from Him, and for that, we should give thanks. As James 1:17 reminds us, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

We can learn to be thankful in every moment of life—whether good or bad, easy or difficult—because each situation has a purpose. Sometimes, we face challenges because of our own mistakes or disobedience to God. However, when we turn back to Him and ask for forgiveness and healing, He can transform those moments into opportunities for growth.

There are times when our experiences leave lasting consequences. In those moments, we must rely on God for strength and guidance to overcome them. Obedience to God is crucial, as it helps us avoid pitfalls that can leave deep scars in our lives. Yet even when we fall, nothing is impossible for God. When we come to Him with a thankful heart, He leads us out of pain and suffering and into the life He has planned for us.

We thank God because He loves us deeply. As Psalm 103:13 says, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.”

Let us choose to be thankful to Him in all things.
